Orsay: Originally designed for the 1900 World’s Fair as the terminus of the city of Orleans railway station, and after escaping a demolition in the 70’s, the building reopened its doors in 1986 as the Musée d’Orsay. Another refurbishment was done in 2012.
The collections occupy three levels covering works from the mid and late 19th century, the Art Nouveau decorative art, a range of paintings and sculptures from the second half of the 19th century and of course the outstanding collection of Impressionists (Monet, Renoir, Manet, Van Gogh, Degas, Cezanne) and Neoimpressionists art (Seurat, Lautrec, Gauguin).
